Description

Sonicka K2-K4 ® is a flexible, high-density polymer sound barrier designed to absorb noise across the full hearing frequency spectrum.

This product offers a high-performance yet cost-effective solution for controlling unwanted sounds from sources like home theaters, machinery, aircraft, and traffic. This is because it works by creating a dampening effect to unwanted sounds. Which means that when the noise hits the wall, the energy waves dissipate and go up and down. This friction then results in it converting to heat energy instead. Through increasing the surface mass, the Sonicka ® makes your environment more resistant to noise transmission. Which then minimises any disruptions to your workplace or household.

As a leading product, the Sonicka ® exceeds the building compliance standard outlined for certain properties. Which ranges from apartment buildings to boarding homes. This is given that it's made of high density polymer, which is designed for noise transmission reduction. It is highly effective at minimising common airborne noises, including, conversations and traffic TV. Through minimising this noise pollution, this ensures the right noise level for your environment.

Explore the Sonicka ® Composite Products

Given its versatility, our soundproofing membrane meets a broad range of acoustic requirements. It can be integrated into various composite products, which combines the acoustic properties of different materials to address the unique needs of your space. This flexibility assists in curating the right soundproofing solution that meets your needs.

This is especially important for industries with higher acoustic demands, such as heavy transport cabin insulation. Within this industry, there are larger scale noise disruptions. From the engines, exhaust, to road noise, all of which can be transmitted to the remaining cabins.

Instead, through the Sonicka ® technology it dampens the sound waves. Which then enhances the acoustic comfort of your space. Through preventing the entry and exit of noise pollution, you’re ensuring the right noise level for your environment and for those surrounding it.

Take a Deeper Dive into the Sonicka ® Range

A red jagged line on a white background, representing sound waves or an audio signal.

According to the building code of Australia (BCA) standard, the Sonicka ® is designed to significantly reduce airborne noise transmissions. These standards are only made applicable to a certain building class and use, providing a significant reduction of noise transmission. These are for property types that are closely compacted, which then increases its likelihood of noise transmissions. This BCA standard has only been made applicable to class 1, 2 and 3 buildings.

For these single standalone dwellings (Class 1), multi occupant buildings (Class 2), as well as residential accommodation (Class 3), the Sonicka ® exceeds the sound insulation standard for airborne noise which is a minimum DnT,w + Ctr of 45 dB. Which then provides superior noise isolation from common sounds, including traffic to music noises.

Given this product, you’ll experience superior soundproofing from various noises. Ranging from the television playing in the background, to music streamed on the radio. This is in part assessed through its 6 star rating for exceptional airborne noise insulation. With a sound insulation rating of DnT,w + Ctr values above 55 dB. This means that noises like background conversations will be challenging to overhear.

Determined by the Association of Australasian Acoustical Consultants, this product provides exceptional soundproofing for multi level dwellings. All through providing a high degree of wall and ceiling insulation. So your environment's sound level can be isolated from noises that travel through air. This then minimises any noise disturbances occurring to you and your neighbours.

A red jagged line on a white background, representing sound waves or an audio signal.

Within the Sonicka ® range, the Sonicka K2-K4 ® takes this one step further. This product leverages superior soundproofing technology to deliver a wide range of benefits. Which has solidified itself as a practical acoustic application for businesses and homes alike.

See the soundproofing advantage below:

  • Low VOC: Our Sonicka K2-K4 ® ensures a minimal exposure of your environment to harmful chemicals. This is through having a lower concentration of VOC than the maximum VOC standard being 0.5mg for green star. Which in turn ensures the wellbeing of your environment, providing a clean and hazard-free indoor air quality. This prevents many side effects like eye irritation, nausea and difficulty breathing. Additionally, VOCS have negative effects on the environment. This is because it contributes to air pollution, and produces bad smells.
  • Affordable Installation: Providing superior soundproofing at a reasonable cost, the Sonicka K2-K4 ® is the right choice for many. Which is why, this product is a practical acoustic choice for many businesses and homes.
  • Space-saving: Through its thin and lightweight technology, it’s easily integrated as a compact solution for reducing sound transmission. Additionally, the Sonicka K2-K4 ® comes in the form of various composite products, including acoustic doors and carpet underlay. Which makes the product flexible enough to meet a wide range of soundproofing needs.
  • Highest Acoustic Rating: Given its high AAAC rating, this product minimises the full sound frequency of airborne noises. Which then allows your home or office to have minimal noise disruptions. From reducing the sound of the air conditioning system, to any conversations.

Specifically Designed for Plasterboards

A red jagged line on a white background, representing sound waves or an audio signal.

Within many Aussies and offices, the Gyprock plasterboard material is used for interior walls and ceilings. Although this material is cheaper to install, maintain and repair, the plasterboard has very poor sound absorption qualities. Given that this material goes 10mm deeper, it results in the easy transmission of noise from room to room.

To mitigate this, the  Sonicka K2-K4 ® soundproofing membrane is installed between two layers of Gyprock. This effectively increases the density of the wall, preventing noise from entering and exiting. Which then allows for the major reduction of noise transmission from room to room. This works to enhance the acoustic quality of the environment and surrounding ones. Which is important for properties where sound waves easily travel, such as multi-level dwellings.

Wall and Ceiling Predictors

A red jagged line on a white background, representing sound waves or an audio signal.

Acoustic prediction determines how effective the walls and ceilings will be at sound insulation. This is done through evaluating the sound frequencies that would exist within the space. For the appropriate sound insulation, the Sonicka K2-K4 ® meets the requirements of class 2 and 3 buildings. This includes apartment buildings, or multi unit residential where sound waves can easily be transmitted through walls.

Along with this, the Sonicka K2-K4 ® soundproofing is crucial for aged care. This is because it minimises the transmission of common airborne noises, such as alarms, TV, radio. It acts as a barrier to preventing sound waves from infiltrating both the walls and ceilings. This also minimises the noise level of conversations, securing confidentiality and privacy.
